Italian Aroma: The Scent, The Fragrance, The Perfume and The Smell
The tricky term “aroma” describes a strong and usually very pleasant smell. For instance, it could be: an inviting fragrance of Espresso or a subtle perfume of Brunello wine. Or, an appetizing smell of pizza or a plate of spagetti allo scoglio. The aroma reaches the nose before the food or drink reach the mouth, so we can enjoy it before we actually taste it.
Moreover, each person or even place has its own smell. Hence, this charming word describes a noticeable feeling or quality connected with a place or situation, a kind of aura or all-embracing atmosphere. Like, for example, a bouquet of adventure or mystery hung about the plane. Those who, have ever been in love surely remember the scent of love (just like the famous “scent of woman”).
